Going outside has never been banned in Switzerland
Despite the strong and widely used recommendation to stay at home with the exception of grocery shopping, travelling to work or visiting a doctor in case of emergency, even the information video about the measures preventing the spread of the virus published by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health contains infographics that allows outdoor exercise and walking. Mental health of the citizens is a priority for the Confederation, and therefore the country has never imposed a total lockdown despite numerous discussions and debates.
Public meetings of more than five people are still prohibited. A fine will be imposed for breaching the order. Another strong recommendation is to avoid domestic travel. It`s recommended to walk and jog only close to home.
