We are certain, that a second opinion should be requested for every relevant medical diagnosis. Generally, patients request a second opinion, when they are not sure about their diagnosis, or when their treatment options are complicated, risky, or unpleasant. It is particularly reasonable to ask for a second opinion: – if your doctor has advised you to have a major operation; – if you have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition; – if you have been diagnosed with a rare condition, or have been advised to seek a long-term treatment – if your doctor is uncertain about your condition or diagnosis; – if your doctor has suggested a treatment option, that you are not sure about.

A second opinion is a full assessment of your medical history, diagnosis and treatment plan by a specialist. The doctor, who is asked for a second opinion, will either confirm your diagnosis and treatment or recommend an alternative diagnosis and / or treatment plan to you. The doctor may advise you to request additional diagnostic tests. A second opinion is important: for many patients who ask for a second opinion, the diagnosis or the treatment plan changes. Ask for a second opinion and we will organize everything necessary for you. Your case will be reviewed by a first-class medical expert. You will be given a written assessment and second opinion of your diagnosis and treatment options. Please note that all the relevant documents must be translated into German in advance. Please let us know, if you need assistance with translation.

The doctors, who work with Airdoc are recognized experts in their fields of knowledge. They have years of expertise, run their own doctor’s practice or work in renowned hospitals in Switzerland.

To give you a second opinion, the medical specialist will need the following from you: your current diagnosis – all important supporting documents, such as MRT or diagnostic tests – a description of any medical treatment you have already undergone – your medical history, including chronic illnesses, allergies, surgeries, and non-prescription drugs – as well as specific questions you might have for your second opinion.
These documents must be written in German or translated into it. We will be happy to help you with this as well.

Yes, as long as you have obtained this person’s authorization and / or are the guardian of the patient. In order to get a second opinion you should be able to provide medical documents, which specify the current diagnosis of the patient, the current treatment plan and accompanying documents (such as MRT or diagnostic tests), as well as a comprehensive medical history.

It is certainly a good idea to inform your doctor about any additional medical opinions you have received. Many doctors appreciate their colleagues’ suggestions and are pleased that you are taking an active part in making decisions about your healthcare.

Once you have sent us your request and we have all your medical records in German, we will send you your second opinion within 5 working days. To ensure that the process is as efficient as possible, our experienced care team will assist you in preparing your medical history and, if necessary, organize translators. The experts request documents written in German or translated into it. You will receive the second opinion given by the specialist as a PDF. It will already be translated (into Russian or English).

Why do you need my documents?
– Clinics and doctors should know the anamnesis in order to offer you the necessary examinations or treatment. Doctors need your medical records to get acquainted with the history of the disease. This way, they can give the most accurate diagnosis, confirm or deny the previous diagnosis, prescribe the most effective treatment in your case or examination.
What documents are needed?
– Excerpts from anamnesis, X-rays, MRIs, CTs, ultrasound, therapy plans, your personal description of your condition and its changes (in your own words), test results, etc.
How detailed should these documents be?
– Everything depends on the complexity of the case and your wishes. If you want to undergo a standard examination (check-up, body diagnostics), then we do not need special documents. In difficult cases, you need to provide the most detailed information about your condition and the result of previous medical examinations.
If the assumptions made by doctors in your country are not confirmed in the process of obtaining a second medical opinion, you should be prepared for the possibility of the doctor appointing a second examination or a partial repetition of the checkups.

3️. After receiving the documents, we will send inquiries to clinics or specific medical practices that deal with your particular profile and have proven themselves in the prevention or treatment of this particular condition/disease. If you have specific wishes regarding the clinic, let us know about it, and we will send a request to this clinic.

4️. Within 3-5 workdays we, together with clinics and doctors, process and prepare your individual program e.g. of  treatment, including its approximate cost, and we also appoint the leading specialist who will deal with your question.

5️. We send you an answer. If you agree with the offer, we confirm and begin to implement your program of prevention, diagnosis or treatment.
